Yes, I'm a halfback! No, not a football halfback, but I've moved "half back" from where I began, earning this title among the locals. I lived in the foothills of the Alleghany Mountains in Northwest Pennsylvania until the non-stop cold and snow got the best of me. So I moved my two young children to Florida where I spent thirteen years soaking up the sun and frolicking in the Gulf of Mexico. Talk about one extreme to the other - WOW! In 1990 my husband and I discovered Franklin and fell in love with the beautiful landscape, moderate climate and friendly people. We looked for any excuse to spend time here in the mountains. Nine years later we packed our belongings and became full time residents - we've not regretted our move for one second. This picturesque mountain town called to me the first time I drove up town hill while on vacation. Having lived half of my life here now, I can't imagine being anywhere else.
